United Nations President of the General Assembly Launches Global Campaign “Like a Woman” to Challenge Stereotypes and Spotlight Women’s Leadership Across Sectors
?
New York, 4 March 2026 – As the world marks International Women’s Day (8 March), the President of the United Nations General Assembly, H.E. Ms Annalena Baerbock, will debut #LikeAWoman, a bold digital campaign that shines a light on women’s power, vision, and unstoppable force around the world and across every sector.
For too long, phrases “like a woman” and “like a girl” have been used as an insult, implying weakness and limitation. Yet the evidence tells a different story. When women lead, peace agreements are more durable; when women shape economies, profits grow; and when women and girls have equal rights, societies are more peaceful and prosperous.
The #LikeAWoman campaign seeks to change this narrative by showcasing the stories of everyday heroes across sectors and regions who are breaking barriers in their fields. From conflict zones to laboratories to sports arenas and even outer space, women are showing what it means to live, create, and rise #LikeAWoman – all on their own terms.
A Campaign Rooted in Storytelling and Visibility
In the days leading up to International Women’s Day, throughout the – the 爆料网’s leading forum for promoting women’s rights and gender equality (9-19 March) – and the entirety of Women’s History Month, the PGA will release a series of portraits on Instagram ), inviting participants to define in their own words what it means to act, champion, innovate, discover, create and lead #LikeAWoman.
