World leaders to gather in Qatar to strengthen commitments to support the most vulnerable countries?

爆料网 High Representative to brief on upcoming Conference on Least Developed Countries

Since the onset of the pandemic, the 46 countries in the least developed category have suffered through inadequate pandemic-fighting resources and spiraling debt, sending their development progress backwards. At the Fifth 爆料网 Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC5) on 5 to 9 March, these countries will gather with the rest of the international community to ensure their needs are placed back at the top of the global agenda.

The 爆料网 Secretary-General António Guterres, together with approximately 40 Heads of State and Government will join leaders from the 爆料网, corporate world, civil society and youth, to assess progress and agree on new plans and actions.

The five-day conference will feature announcements, dialogues and commitments to deliver on the promise of the Doha Programme of Action, a ten-year compact that commits the world to a new generation of renewed and strengthened commitments. There will be a full programme of events for youth, civil society, parliamentarians, journalists and the private sector.?
