CTED leads expert consultations with Sri Lankan authorities on developing a national comprehensive counter-terrorism strategy

Thanks to financial support from the Republic of Korea, the Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (CTED) led a delegation of experts to Sri Lanka where they conducted consultations within the framework of the Intelligence Oversight Working Group for South and South-East Asia (IOWG-SSA). The working group was launched as part of the Initiative on Strengthening Oversight and Accountability in Counter-Terrorism.

CTED at side events for 2026 Counter-Terrorism Week

The Fourth United Nations Counter-Terrorism Week will be held from Friday, 26 June to Thursday, 2 July 2026. The theme is “A Future Free from Terrorism: Consolidating the Global Commitment to Multi-Stakeholder Approaches to Counter Terrorism through Member States’ Leadership and Action,” and will be complemented by a number of side events, which will facilitate discussion of key counter-terrorism priorities under the four pillars of the United Nations Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy.
