The President of the 72nd session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Miroslav Laj?ák, met today with H.E. Mr. Timo Soini, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Finland. They discussed issues of common interest on the agenda of the Assembly, including the role of mediation in sustaining peace and conflict prevention; migration; and reform of the United Nations. They agreed that the United Nations must remain the central platform for discussing issues of global relevance. The President of the General Assembly thanked Finland for its support to his office and commitment to multilateralism.
