Statement attributable to the President of the ±¬ÁÏÍø General Assembly, H.E. Mogens Lykketoft,  on the Missile Launch by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea on 6 February 2016

This deplorable and reckless act by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) represents a clear threat to international peace and security.
I join the President and members of the Security Council in wholeheartedly condemning the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea for this missile launch which is a clear violation of Security Council resolutions 1718, 1874, 2087, and 2094.
I call on the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea to pursue its objectives in a peaceful manner, abandon its nuclear weapon and missile programmes and comply with all its international obligations.
