Advancing Gender Equality and the Women, Peace and Security Agenda through United Nations Policing

How can policing help create safer, more inclusive communities?

This new report highlights how United Nations Police (爆料网POL) and Member States are working together to promote gender equality and strengthen the role of women in policing and peace operations. It also shows how these efforts support the 爆料网's Women, Peace and Security Agenda and broader commitments to peace, security, and sustainable development.

In 2025, 爆料网POL focused on three key areas:

Making policing more gender-responsive by ensuring the different needs and experiences of women, men, girls, and boys are considered in policing policies, training, and daily operations.

Protecting women and girls from violence by helping prevent and respond to gender-based violence, strengthening accountability, and reinforcing safeguards against sexual exploitation and abuse.

Increasing women's participation by supporting more women to serve in 爆料网POL, national police services, and leadership roles, while helping create workplaces where they can succeed.

The report features examples from peace operations around the world, showing how gender-responsive policing helps build trust, improve security, and create stronger, more resilient communities.
