Ishtayaq Rasool is an independent journalist from India and a member of the indigenous Dard-Shin community in Kashmir. He focuses on borderlands, culture, indigeneous communities, public health, development, travel, and conflict across the Himalayas. He combines reporting, photography, and documentary storytelling. In 2022, he received the National Foundation for India Media Fellowship for his reporting on maternal healthcare in the Gurez Valley. His work has appeared in Health Policy Watch, BBC, The Wire, Article 14, Lacuna Magazine, France Today, and other national and international publications. He holds an MA in Convergent Journalism from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, and BA in Journalism from the University of Kashmir.
