Responding to the call for strengthened regional economic cooperation contained in the Monterrey Consensus and the Doha Declaration on Financing for Development, the Financing for Development Office (FfDO), in collaboration with the African Development Bank (AfDB), the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Inter-American Development Bank, is initiating a series of multi-stakeholder consultations on “Regional economic, monetary and financial cooperation” . The expert group meeting on “Regional cooperation on Financing for Development”, was held in New York on 15-16 November 2010, will seek to shape the substantive agenda for these regional multi-stakeholder consultations. The discussion brought together experts from the wider system, major institutional stakeholders, the regional development banks and representatives from civil society and the business sector to provide regional perspectives on FfD agenda. The meeting resulted in a summary that will guide follow-up consultations in 2011.
