International Conference on the Question of Jerusalem<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong>Part 1<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong>\u201cAnnexation in Practice \u2013 Palestinian Lives in Jerusalem\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0T<\/strong>uesday, 28 July 2020, 10.00 a.m. – 12.00 p.m. (NY Time)<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The ±¬ÁÏÍø Palestinian Rights Committee<\/a>, in collaboration with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), will hold the International Conference on the Question of Jerusalem on \u201cAnnexation in Practice \u2013 Palestinian Lives in Jerusalem\u201d as a series of events. The first event in this series will be held on 28 July 2020 from 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. (New York Time)<\/strong>, via WebEx. The event will also be livestreamed on ±¬ÁÏÍø Web TV.<\/p>\n The speakers \u2013 Ms. Maha Abdallah (Cairo Institute for Human Rights Studies, Jerusalem), Ms. Hagit Ofran (Peace Now, Jerusalem), Mr. Osamah Khalil (Syracuse University, USA) \u2013 will highlight the history of Israel\u2019s decades-long illegal annexation of East Jerusalem and the lived reality of Palestinian Jerusalemites under this regime.<\/p>\n Through raising awareness with international audiences \u2013 Member States, civil society and media \u2013 about the Israeli annexation reality as Palestinians live it in Jerusalem, the Conference will highlight the various critical dimensions of the situation in the City after over 50 years of Israeli occupation and its associated policies and measures. The event will also discuss how Israel\u2019s entrenchment of its annexation plans in the rest of the occupied West Bank would jeopardize the centrality of Jerusalem as a final status issue in the Israel-Palestine conflict that must be justly resolved on the basis of international law and the relevant ±¬ÁÏÍø resolutions.
