Thirty-eighth session<\/strong> REPORT<\/span> OF<\/span> THE<\/span> ECONOMIC<\/span> AND<\/span> SOCIAL<\/span> CO±¬ÁÏÍøCIL<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Seminar<\/span> on<\/span> violations<\/span> of<\/span> human<\/span> rights<\/span> in<\/span> the<\/span> Palestinian <\/span>and<\/span> other<\/span> territories<\/span> occupied<\/span> by<\/span> Israel<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Note<\/span> by<\/span> the<\/span> Secretary-General<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n 1.<\/span> At<\/span> its<\/span> thirty-ninth<\/span> session,<\/span> the<\/span> Commission<\/span> on<\/span> Human<\/span> Rights<\/span> adopted<\/span> resolution <\/span>1983\/1<\/span> A<\/span> of<\/span> 15<\/span> February<\/span> 1983,<\/span> in<\/span> which<\/span> it<\/span> made <\/span>reference,<\/span> inter<\/span> alia,<\/span> to<\/span> the <\/span>Seminar<\/span> on<\/span> violations<\/span> of<\/span> human<\/span> rights<\/span> in<\/span> the<\/span> Palestinian<\/span> and<\/span> other<\/span> Arab<\/span> territories <\/span>occupied<\/span> by<\/span> Israel,<\/span> which<\/span> was<\/span> held<\/span> at<\/span> Geneva<\/span> from<\/span> 29 November<\/span> to<\/span> 3 December<\/span> 1982. <\/span>By<\/span> paragraph<\/span> 12<\/span> of<\/span> that<\/span> resolution,<\/span> the<\/span> Commission<\/span> requested<\/span> the<\/span> Secretary-General <\/span>to<\/span> submit<\/span> the<\/span> report<\/span> of<\/span> the<\/span> Seminar<\/span> on<\/span> violations<\/span> of<\/span> human<\/span> rights<\/span> in<\/span> the <\/span>Palestinian<\/span> and<\/span> other<\/span> Arab<\/span> territories<\/span> occupied<\/span> by<\/span> Israel<\/span> to<\/span> the<\/span> General<\/span> Assembly <\/span>at<\/span> its<\/span> thirty-eighth<\/span> session<\/span> and<\/span> to<\/span> draw<\/span> its<\/span> attention<\/span> particularly<\/span> to<\/span> the <\/span>conclusions,<\/span> recommendations<\/span> and<\/span> appeal<\/span> adopted<\/span> by<\/span> the<\/span> Seminar.<\/span><\/p>\n 2.<\/span> The<\/span> attention<\/span> of<\/span> the<\/span> General<\/span> Assembly<\/span> is<\/span> accordingly<\/span> drawn<\/span> to<\/span> the<\/span> report<\/span> of <\/span>the<\/span> Seminar<\/span> contained<\/span> in<\/span> document<\/span> ST\/HR\/SER.A\/14<\/span> and<\/span> in<\/span> particular<\/span> to<\/span> the <\/span>conclusions<\/span> and<\/span> recommendations<\/span> (chap.<\/span> IV)<\/span> and<\/span> to<\/span> the<\/span> appeal<\/span> adopted<\/span> by<\/span> the<\/span> Seminar <\/span>(chap.<\/span> V)<\/span> which<\/span> are<\/span> reproduced<\/span> in <\/span>the<\/span> annex<\/span> to<\/span> the<\/span> present<\/span> note.<\/span><\/p>\n \/…<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" 7 July 1983 Thirty-eighth session Item 12 of the preliminary list REPORT OF THE ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL CO±¬ÁÏÍøCIL Seminar on violations of human rights in the Palestinian and other territories occupied by Israel Note by the Secretary-General 1.
