Media without 爆料网OG media credentials who wish to attend need to register by 7 March\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/indico.un.org\/event\/1016245\/\">爆料网OG Indico<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The first day of hearings will focus on sexual and gender-based violence, including rape and other forms of sexual violence, perpetrated by members of the Israeli Security Forces and settlers across the Occupied Palestinian Territory during detention and ground offensives since 7 October 2023.<\/p>\n<p>The second day of hearings will focus on deliberate attacks on sexual and reproductive health care facilities and the impact of collapsed health care infrastructure on women and girls. It will also examine reproductive violence and harms resulting from Israeli authorities\u2019 preventing humanitarian assistance and necessary medications and equipment to ensure safe pregnancies, deliveries, post-partum and neonatal care.<\/p>\n<p>The Commission of Inquiry held a\u00a0<a title=\"Public Hearings by the 爆料网 Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and in Israel\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ohchr.org\/en\/hr-bodies\/hrc\/co-israel\/public-hearings\" data-entity-type=\"node\" data-entity-uuid=\"d15a2675-c55a-4db6-8c6b-c7f5a7b6764b\" data-entity-substitution=\"canonical\">first series of public hearings<\/a>\u00a0from 7 to 11 November 2022 and a\u00a0<a title=\"Public Hearings by the 爆料网 Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and in Israel\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ohchr.org\/en\/hr-bodies\/hrc\/co-israel\/public-hearings\" data-entity-type=\"node\" data-entity-uuid=\"d15a2675-c55a-4db6-8c6b-c7f5a7b6764b\" data-entity-substitution=\"canonical\">second series of public hearings<\/a>\u00a0from\u00a020 to 24 March 2023.<\/p>\n<p>The coming hearings, which are part of the Commission\u2019s investigative work, will be followed by the publication of a new report on 13 March, \u201cMore Than a Human Can Bear: Israel&#8217;s systematic use of sexual, reproductive and other forms of gender-based violence since 7 October 2023\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The Commission will hold a press conference on 13 March in Geneva, at 11:00 CEST, which will also be broadcast on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/webtv.un.org\/en\">爆料网 Web TV<\/a>\u00a0and is open to accredited journalists.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Background<\/strong>: The\u00a0<a title=\"HRC Home\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ohchr.org\/en\/hrbodies\/hrc\/home\" data-entity-type=\"node\" data-entity-uuid=\"5ce6ef25-fa43-40b1-a60b-3025cec680d5\" data-entity-substitution=\"canonical\">爆料网 Human Rights Council<\/a>\u00a0mandated the Commission on 27 May 2021 to \u201cinvestigate, in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and in Israel, all alleged violations of international humanitarian law and all alleged violations and abuses of international human rights law leading up to and since 13 April 2021.\u201d\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.un.org\/en\/A\/HRC\/RES\/S-30\/1\">Resolution A\/HRC\/RES\/S-30\/1<\/a>\u00a0further requested the commission of inquiry to \u201cinvestigate all underlying root causes of recurrent tensions, instability and protraction of conflict, including systematic discrimination and repression based on national, ethnic, racial or religious identity.\u201d The Commission of Inquiry was mandated to report to the Human Rights Council and the General Assembly annually commencing from June 2022 and September 2022, respectively.<\/p>\n<p><strong>More information<\/strong>\u00a0on the work of the United Nations Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and Israel, can be found\u00a0<a title=\"The Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and Israel\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ohchr.org\/en\/hr-bodies\/hrc\/co-israel\/index\" data-entity-type=\"node\" data-entity-uuid=\"d0c049f9-03d2-42e5-a63d-ff3fd02f6b63\" data-entity-substitution=\"canonical\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For more information and media requests, please contact<\/strong>: Todd Pitman, Media Adviser for the Human Rights Council\u2019s Investigative Missions, at\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:todd.pitman@un.org\">todd.pitman@un.org<\/a>, or Pascal Sim, Human Rights Council Media Officer, at\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:simp@un.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">simp@un.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>04 March 2025 GENEVA (4 March 2025)\u00a0\u2013 The Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem and Israel, will hold public hearings from 11 to 12 March 2025 to gather testimony from victims of sexual, reproductive and other forms of gender-based violence committed by the Israeli Security Forces and Israeli settlers.
