They found that Meta reaps financial benefits from the dissemination of harmful content within its platforms.<\/li>\n<li>On 21 November, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alhaq.org\/advocacy\/22214.html\">Al-Haq<\/a> published an article to commemorate World Children\u2019s Day on 20 November, noting that some 5,350 Palestinian children have been killed in Gaza in the last 45 days. The article also called upon the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court to immediately issue arrest warrants for Israeli officials responsible for crimes against Palestinian children.<\/li>\n<li>On 21 November, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.badil.org\/press-releases\/14257.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BADIL \u2013 Resource Centre for Palestinian Residency and Refugee Rights<\/a> issued a press release condemning the way \u201ccolonial states, such as the USA, EU, UK, Germany and others,\u201d are proposing management plans for a post-ceasefire Gaza without consulting the Palestinian people or considering their rights or will.<\/li>\n<li>On 20 November, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.addameer.org\/news\/5220\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Addameer Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association<\/a> issued a press release marking World Children\u2019s Day, highlighting the systematic arrest of dozens of Palestinian children by Israeli authorities. They note that approximately 200 children have been arrested since 7 October, with some of them subsequently released.<\/li>\n<li>On 19 November, <a href=\"https:\/\/peacenow.org.il\/en\/attempt-for-the-establishment-of-a-new-settlement-in-the-armenian-quarter-of-the-old-city\">Peace Now<\/a> published an article reporting on attempts to seize one of the last undeveloped plots in the Armenian Quarter of Jerusalem\u2019s Old City for the establishment of a new settlement despite opposition from the Armenian community.<\/li>\n<li>On 16 November, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.english.acri.org.il\/post\/allow-a-demonstration-in-tel-aviv-calling-for-a-ceasefire-and-the-return-of-the-abductees\">Association for the Civil Rights in Israel (ACRI)<\/a> published an article describing steps they had taken to obtain permission to hold a demonstration in Tel Aviv to call for a cease-fire in Gaza, the release of the hostages, and the promotion of peace.<\/li>\n<li>On 16 November, <a href=\"https:\/\/gisha.org\/en\/urgent-need-for-humanitarian-access-to-gaza-via-kerem-shalom\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gisha \u2013 Legal Centre for Freedom of Movement<\/a> issued a press release calling for humanitarian access to Gaza via Kerem Shalom Crossing. Noting that the deliberate obstruction of life-saving humanitarian aid is a war crime, they called for unobstructed access to vital goods, including fuel, water, medical supplies and food to be facilitated immediately via both Israel and Egypt.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Asia and Europe<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On 21 November, <a href=\"https:\/\/agencemediapalestine.fr\/blog\/2023\/11\/21\/israel-tue-32-journalistes-palestinien-ne-s-en-1-mois-de-bombardements-sur-gaza\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Agence M\u00e9dia Palestine<\/a> published an article (in French) noting that 46 Palestinian journalists have been killed by Israel and its intensive bombardment of the Gaza Strip since 7 October.<\/li>\n<li>On 20 November, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amnesty.org\/en\/latest\/news\/2023\/11\/israel-opt-nowhere-safe-in-gaza-unlawful-israeli-strikes-illustrate-callous-disregard-for-palestinian-lives\/\">Amnesty International<\/a> (AI) published an article highlighting its ongoing investigation into violations of the international laws of war in Gaza, and noting it had documented two illustrative cases in which Israeli strikes killed 46 civilians, including 20 children. Based on its in-depth investigation of these events, AI said it had determined that these strikes were indiscriminate attacks or direct attacks on civilians or civilian objects and must be investigated as war crimes.<\/li>\n<li>On 20 November, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.france-palestine.org\/Stop-au-massacre-des-enfants-palestiniens\">Association France Palestine Solidarit\u00e9<\/a> issued a press release (in French) marking the anniversary of the International Convention on the Rights of the Child, and calling for an end to the \u201cslaughter of Palestinian children.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>On 18 November, the <a href=\"https:\/\/prc.org.uk\/en\/post\/4562\/prc-israeli-massacres-at-shelters-schools-for-gaza-s-displaced-communities-shocking\">Palestinian Return Center<\/a> (PRC) issued a press release expressing concern over Israeli attacks on buildings sheltering displaced families, including hospitals and schools-turned-shelters. In the previous 72 hours, PRC said it had documented relentless Israeli bombardment on ±¬ÁÏÍø schools, shelters, and overcrowded buildings in Gaza.<\/li>\n<li>On 17 November, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.association-belgo-palestinienne.be\/le-parlement-bruxellois-refuse-dassimiler-la-critique-disrael-a-de-lantisemitisme\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Association Belgo-Palestinienne<\/a> issued a statement (in French) welcoming the vote that day in the Brussels Parliament which approved a resolution to combat anti-Semitism that simultaneously allows for the freedom of expression of human rights defenders to engage in legitimate criticism of Israeli authorities, refusing to equate that criticism with antisemitism.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>North America<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On 30 November, <a href=\"https:\/\/peacenow.org\/entry.php?id=42613\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Americans for Peace Now<\/a> will hold a webinar titled \u201c±¬ÁÏÍøRWA\u2019s Gaza Challenge\u201d which will feature a discussion with William Deere, the Director of ±¬ÁÏÍøRWA Representative Office in Washington D.C.<\/li>\n<li>On 22 November, <a href=\"https:\/\/jstreet.org\/press-releases\/j-street-welcomes-hostage-release-and-pause-in-fighting-urges-us-to-set-red-lines-for-netanyahu\/\">J Street<\/a> published a press release welcoming the agreement reached between Israel and Hamas on the release of hostages and a temporary ceasefire. J Street also called on President Biden to stop providing \u201cunbounded support\u201d to Israel for a war with no limits nor exit strategy.<\/li>\n<li>On 22 November, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hrw.org\/news\/2023\/11\/22\/while-fire-rages-gaza-west-bank-smolders\">Human Rights Watch<\/a> published an article noting that while global attention is focused on Israel and Gaza, Israeli authorities are increasing their repression in the West Bank and attacks on Palestinians by Israeli settlers are surging.<\/li>\n<li>On 21 November, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jewishvoiceforpeace.org\/2023\/11\/21\/hard-conversations-thanksgiving\/\">Jewish Voice for Peace<\/a> published an article titled \u201c8 Ways to Have Hard Conversations about a Ceasefire this Thanksgiving,\u201d that provides advice on how to have meaningful conversations about the situation in the Middle East with friends and family over the holidays.<\/li>\n<li>On 18 November, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fosna.org\/the-fosna-blog\/open-letter-christian-organizations-demand-immediate-ceasefire-in-gaza\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Friends of Sabeel North America<\/a> urged Christian individuals and organizations to sign and endorse a statement that calls on their constituencies to demand an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, the adequate provision of humanitarian aid, accountability for the perpetrators and enablers of war crimes, and an end to US military aid to Israel.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>United Nations<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On 29 November, the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People (CEIRPP) will hold a Special Meeting to commemorate the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/unispal\/event\/solidarity-day-2023\/\">International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People<\/a> at ±¬ÁÏÍø Headquarters in New York. An <a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/unispal\/event\/exhibit-opening\/\">exhibit<\/a> titled \u201cPalestine: A Land with a People,\u201d will also be inaugurated in the Visitors\u2019 Lobby of the General Assembly building and will run through 8 January 2024.<\/li>\n<li>On 22 November, the <a href=\"https:\/\/unsco.unmissions.org\/sites\/default\/files\/sg_statement_on_the_agreement_to_release_hostages_in_gaza_-_22_november_2023.pdf\">Spokesperson for the Secretary-General<\/a> issued a statement welcoming the agreement reached by Israel and Hamas to release hostages in Gaza.<\/li>\n<li>On 22 November, Tor Wennesland, <a href=\"https:\/\/unsco.unmissions.org\/statement-un-special-coordinator-middle-east-peace-process-tor-wennesland-agreement-release-hostages\">Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process<\/a>, issued a statement welcoming the announcement of a deal to secure the release of hostages abducted on 7 October and the announcement of a four-day humanitarian pause in Gaza.<\/li>\n<li>On 19 November, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/unispal\/document\/deeply-shocked-by-two-fatal-attacks-on-palestine-refugee-agency-secretary-general-emphasizes-united-nations-premises-are-inviolable-calls-for-ceasefire\/\">Secretary-General<\/a> Ant\u00f3nio Guterres issued a statement expressing deep shock after two ±¬ÁÏÍøRWA schools were struck in less than 24 hours in Gaza, and reiterated his call for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire.<\/li>\n<li>On 17 November, the General Assembly held an informal plenary meeting where member states were briefed on the situation in Gaza by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/unispal\/document\/who-director-generals-remarks-at-the-informal-plenary-meeting-of-the-united-nations-general-assembly\/\">WHO<\/a> Director-General, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/unispal\/document\/acting-deputy-commissioner-general-natalie-boucly-remarks-at-the-informal-plenary-meeting-of-the-united-nations-general-assembly\/\">±¬ÁÏÍøRWA<\/a> Deputy Commissioner-General, Natalie Boucly, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/unispal\/document\/protection-of-civilians-is-absolutely-top-priority-un-human-rights-chief-volker-turk-briefs-un-general-assembly\/\">±¬ÁÏÍø High Commissioner for Human Rights<\/a>, Volker T\u00fcrk, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/unispal\/document\/under-secretary-general-for-humanitarian-affairs-informal-plenary-meeting-of-the-general-assembly-on-the-humanitarian-situation-in-the-gaza-strip\/\">Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs<\/a> and Emergency Relief Coordinator, Mr. Martin Griffiths.<\/li>\n<li>On 16 November, the Bureau of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/unispal\/document\/ceirpp-bureau-press-release-16nov2023\/\">Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People<\/a> issued a statement welcoming the adoption of Security Council resolution 2712 (2023) and calling for its implementation \u201cin its entirety.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Scroll down for the .PDF file.
