EIGHT ±¬ÁÏÍøRWA TRAINEES KILLED IN LEBANON<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>VIENNA, 7 June (±¬ÁÏÍøRWA) — Eight people were killed on Saturday, 5 June when a rocket hit a bus run by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (±¬ÁÏÍøRWA) south of Beirut.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>Seven of the victims were women trainee teachers from ±¬ÁÏÍøRWA's Training Centre at Siblin, and the eighth was an instructor.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Hostilities in southern Lebanon interrupted ration distribution at Sidon, ±¬ÁÏÍøRWA officials reported. They have taken heavy ±¬ÁÏÍøRWA vehicles off the road to conserve fuel stocks, which cannot at present be replenished because of local shortage.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>The ±¬ÁÏÍøRWA provides education, health and relief services to about 226,000 registered Palestine refugees in Lebanon.<\/p><\/div>\n
