Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Yasser Arafat died in the early morning of 11 November in Percy, France. The ±¬ÁÏÍø Secretary-General expressed condolences to Arafat's family and to the Palestinian people. <\/p><\/div>\n

Actions:<\/strong> <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

WHO nutrition experts worked with MoH staff and other stakeholders to elaborate the document on the "State of Nutrition" in West Bank and Gaza Strip. The document outlines main nutrition issues, identifies potential causes, and examines response options including resources, policy, strategy, and programmes. <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

WHO presented Health Action in Crises activities to the Israeli Medical Association (IMA) in Tel Aviv on 9 November. <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

WHO met with at least one major donor during mid-November to review progress – and options – within the ongoing Health Sector Review process. <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

Current WHO humanitarian actions in the West Bank and Gaza Strip have been made possible in 2004 through funding from USAID, AGF±¬ÁÏÍøD, and the Government of Norway, as well as pre-2004 funding from ECHO.<\/p><\/div>\n
