International Maritime Organization<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

1.\t<\/span>The Council of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), at its forty-first session, decided, on 27 October 1978, that the national liberation movements recognized, inter alia<\/u>, by the League of Arab States should be invited as observers to IMO meetings and conferences.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

2.\t<\/span>In order to implement this decision, the IMO Assembly, at its eleventh session, amended its rules of procedure on 6 November 1979.  Observers from the Palestine Liberation Organization have attended IMO meetings and conferences since that date.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

3.\t<\/span>Consultations are currently in progress between IMO and ±¬ÁÏÍøRWA in order to determine and to agree on appropriate arrangements for the provision of training facilities for Palestinian trainees in the maritime field.<\/p><\/div>\n
