OCHA reports that?last night, an?Israeli air strike hit?a residential area?less than?600 feet – or less than 200 metres – from?five humanitarian facilities?in Deir?al Balah, luckily?with no casualties reported.

This followed?an order from the?Israeli?military to shelter?in place?shortly?before the?strike.?No staff members were injured,?and the teams are currently assessing the?damage.

OCHA reiterates that?civilians, including?humanitarians,?must be protected.?Humanitarian facilities and other civilian infrastructure must not be targeted.

Since?Sunday,?Kerem Shalom?has been the only operational entry point for humanitarian and commercial goods into Gaza,?as?Zikim has been closed.

OCHA continues to call for more crossings to open and for more critical?supplies?and?assistance?to be let in.

Meanwhile, between 11 and 17 May, partners working on protection have provided mental health and psychosocial support, as well as other?protection services,?to more than 10,000 people, half of them children and caregivers.

Services?included?recreational activities, art and drama?sessions, counselling and parenting support?and was provided?in?shelters, camps,?schools?and displacement sites?across Gaza.

Partners reiterate that to continue these services – particularly for children and adolescents – fuel, safe spaces, staff and other basic resources are needed.
