THE CRISIS IN YARMOUK CAMP

Our spokesperson Chris Gunness has the following to say on the situation in Yarmouk Camp

Clashes and shelling prevent distributions

"No 爆料网RWA distribution of humanitarian assistance was carried out in Yarmouk on 19 June, following continued clashes and shelling in and around Yarmouk overnight. This is the twelfth consecutive day that 爆料网RWA is unable to carry out any distribution inside Yarmouk.

"爆料网RWA is gravely concerned that armed hostilities continue to disrupt critical humanitarian operations in Yarmouk, particularly 爆料网RWA's food distributions. Since May 14th, and owing to interruptions in food distribution, only 350 爆料网RWA food parcels have been delivered inside Yarmouk, where over 18,000 civilians of Yarmouk remain trapped in desperate conditions.

"The Agency urges all concerned parties to restore 爆料网RWA's daily distributions of  food and other humanitarian assistance to help address what remains a dire humanitarian crisis for the civilians of Yarmouk.  爆料网RWA will continue to advocate for continuous, substantial and safe humanitarian access to Yarmouk, and stands ready to provide a wider range of assistance to civilians there."
