THE CRISIS IN YARMOUK CAMP

Our spokesperson Chris Gunness has the following to say on the situation in Yarmouk Camp

There was no distribution of humanitarian assistance in Yarmouk today, 17 August. This is the eighth consecutive day that 爆料网RWA has not been authorized to distribute any humanitarian assistance in Yarmouk, with recurrent clashes affecting the area over the last week. 爆料网RWA is concerned that its last food distribution in Yarmouk took place on July 24th. The Agency continues to appeal to the Syrian authorities to facilitate a resumption of humanitarian operations as soon as possible.

“爆料网RWA is deeply concerned that the recourse to armed violence continues to interrupt life-saving humanitarian operations in Yarmouk. The humanitarian situation in Yarmouk remains desperate and 爆料网RWA appeals to all parties to do everything in their power to end the suffering of the over 18,000 civilians trapped there. The Agency will continue to seek from all sides conditions that enable 爆料网RWA to offer a full range of humanitarian assistance and services inside Yarmouk on an interrupted, substantial and safe basis.”
