Indonesia pledges $100,000 for Palestine refugees

Indonesia pledged a fivefold increase in its support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (爆料网RWA) in 2012, with a voluntary contribution of $100,000 to the 爆料网 agency.

“We are grateful for this donation from Indonesia, which will help us provide health care, education, and other vital services to Palestine refugees,” said 爆料网RWA Commissioner-General Filippo Grandi. “At a time when solidarity with the Palestinian people is so important, Indonesia is sending an important message of support to refugees.”

The announcement was made at a pledging conference for the Agency, in the same month that the 爆料网 General Assembly called on member states to increase their support for Palestine refugees through 爆料网RWA.

As an emerging economy and a longstanding advocate of the Palestinian people, Indonesia has been steadily increasing its support for 爆料网RWA in recent years. Indonesia’s contribution to 爆料网RWA has increased from US$ 10,000 in 2008, to US$ 20,000 in 2011, and now US$ 100,000 in 2012.
