Among the speakers were historian Ilan Pappe, Marcelo Svirsky (University of Wollogong, Australia), and Lorenzo Veracini (Swinburne University of Technology, Australia)<\/li>\n<li>On 6 October, the Annual UK\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/conservativepartyconference.com\/index\">Conservative Party Conference 2015<\/a>\u00a0will hold a side event in association with\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.palestinecampaign.org\/events\/conservative-party-fringe-a-just-policy-for-palestine\/\">Palestine Solidarity Campaign<\/a>\u00a0on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/conservativepartyconference.com\/searchfringeevents\">&#8216;A just policy for Palestine?&#8217;<\/a>The discussion will highlight a political way forward, focusing on the use of economic solutions and diplomacy as tools to resolve the conflict. The panel will include the participation of Tania Mathias (MP for Twickenham), Kamel Hawwas (Vice Chair of Palestine Solidarity Campaign), and Arthur Goodman (Jews for Justice for Palestinians).<\/li>\n<li>On 6 October\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.chathamhouse.org\/\">Chatham House, the Royal Institute of International Affairs<\/a>, UK will present\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.chathamhouse.org\/event\/future-two-state-solution?utm_source=Chatham%20House%20Newsletter&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=6226682_Newsletter%20-%2001.10.2015&amp;dm_i=1TYB,3PGJE,BIS7EP,DC646,1\">\u201cThe Future of the Two State Solution\u201d<\/a>\u00a0The Conference will be chaired by Sir Tom Phillips and includes the participation of Dr. Ahmad Khalidi and Ari Shavit. The speakers will offer their perspectives on the current state of the Israeli-Palestinian peace process.<\/li>\n<li>On 6 October the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.palestinecampaign.org\/events\/palestinian-history-tapestry-project\/\">Milton Keynes Palestine Solidarity Campaign<\/a>\u00a0will be hosting a presentation on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pht2012.wordpress.com\/\">\u2018The Palestinian History Tapestry Project\u2019<\/a>\u00a0in Milton Keynes, a not-for-profit UK organization established to support Palestinian embroiderers in telling their stories.<\/li>\n<li>On 15 October<a href=\"http:\/\/bookshop.blackwell.co.uk\/stores\/blackwells-ioe\/events\/\">, Blackwell&#8217;s bookstore at the University College London Institute of Education<\/a>\u00a0will present the book &#8220;Romeo and Juliet in Palestine: Teaching under Occupation.\u201d The book written by Tom Sperlinger, is a short memoir reflecting the author\u2019s encounters with young Palestinians in and out of the classroom.<\/li>\n<li>On 17 \u2013 18 October the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/soasunion.org\/\">School of Oriental and African StudiesStudent\u2019s Union\u00a0<\/a>UK will hold the Palestine Society 10th Annual Conference:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/soasunion.org\/ents\/event\/552\/\">Settlers And Citizens: A Critical View Of Israeli Society<\/a>. The conference aims to highlight the continuities in Israeli politics both between different segments of Israeli society as well as between different epochs of the state\u2019s existence.. The Conference will have the participation of Nadim Rouhana (The Fletcher School), Ismael Abu Saad (Ben Gurion University), and Ilan Pappe (University of Exeter), among others.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Global<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>±¬ÁÏÍø\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/unispal.un.org\/unispal.nsf\/com.htm\">Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People<\/a>\u00a0held the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/unispal\/event\/international-meeting-on-the-question-of-palestine\/\">International Meeting on the Question of Palestine<\/a>\u00a0on \u201cIsraeli settlements as an obstacle to peace \u2013 possible ways forward\u201d held in Brussels on 7 and 8 September 2015 and consultations with civil society on 9 September. You can access the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/unispal\/blog\/document\/international-meeting-on-the-question-of-palestine-brussels-7-and-8-sep-2015\/\">Chairman\u2019s summary<\/a>\u00a0of the sessions of the International Meeting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>North America<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>On 1 October, the World Council of Churches ±¬ÁÏÍø Office and the Israel-Palestine NGO Working Group at the United Nations held a meeting with Ms. Shadia Sbait, Palestinian Activist and Founder of Iqrit Community Association on \u201cAn example of non-violent popular and legal struggle for justice and the right to return home (Palestine-Israel) \u201c in New York.<\/li>\n<li>On 6 October the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.columbia.edu\/cu\/palestine\/\">Centre for Palestine Studies<\/a>\u00a0will present the conversation\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.columbia.edu\/cu\/palestine\/programs\/\">\u201cPalestine and the Limits of Academic Freedom\u201d<\/a>\u00a0with Steven Salaita and Rashid Khalidi.
