The former BBC correspondent in Gaza will examine the challenges which the Israeli-Palestinian conflict presents for diplomats and for the new media.<\/li>\n<li>On 13 February, in Salisbury, UK, the Sarum College is Organizing a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/jfjfp.com\/?page_id=19\">conference<\/a>: Britain and Palestine: Past History, future Role.<\/li>\n<li>The Contemporary Art Gallery Mosaic in London, on 17 February is launching a book \u201c\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/jfjfp.com\/?page_id=19\">Gaza as Metaphor \u201d<\/a>\u00a0, which contains a collection of essays by journalists, writers, doctors, academics and others.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>The United States of America<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The Centre for Palestine studies at Columbia University on 11 February is organizing a lecture \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.columbia.edu\/cu\/palestine\/programs\/\">Palestine Re-Covered: Reading a Settler Colonial Landscape<\/a>\u201d by Abdul Rahim al-Shaikh, Associate Professor of Philosophy and Cultural Studies at Birzeit University and Areej Sabbagh-Khoury, associate researcher at Mada al-Carmel-The Arab Centre for Applied Social Research.<\/li>\n<li>On 18 February, the James Gallery at the Graduate Centre of C±¬ÁÏÍøY in New York is hosting a book presentation entitled \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.centerforthehumanities.org\/programming\/performance-by-suad-amiry\">Nothing makes Sense Why Should I<\/a>?\u201d by Palestinian writer Suad Amiry which describes the reality of living under the protracted Israeli occupation.<\/li>\n<li>On 18 February, the Palestine Centre in Washington D.C. is hosting a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thejerusalemfund.org\/ht\/d\/sp\/i\/13537\/pid\/13537\/cat_id\/722\">panel presentation<\/a>\u00a0on \u201cUnderstanding the current Palestinian Revolt: its context and consequences for Palestinian society\u201d. The speakers are Phyllis Bennis, fellow at the Institute for Policy Studies, and Rania Khalek, an independent journalist.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Middle East<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The Palestinian Centre for Human rights (PCHR) on 3 February organized an\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/pchrgaza.org\/en\/?p=7813\">activity<\/a>\u00a0in solidarity with administrative detainee, journalist Mohammed al Qeeq who had been on hunger strike for a consecutive 72 days and whose health is critical.
