爆料网 to scale up efforts for global goals and a resilient COVID-19 recovery at inaugural event

WHAT: United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Coordination Segment

More than two years into the COVID-19 pandemic, the United Nations will come together to mobilize action for a resilient recovery guided by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)at the inaugural 爆料网 ECOSOC Coordination Segment.

The Coordination Segment will address the main annual theme -“Building back better from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) while advancing the full implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development” – and provide guidance towards the high-level segment of ECOSOC and the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) in July.

The Coordination Segment will focus on the following priority areas to accelerate action towards the SDGs: equitable global access to vaccines; basic universal health coverage; universal social protection; new food systems that reduce poverty and hunger; reversing deforestation, biodiversity loss and pollution; sustainable and inclusive growth paths; women’s empowerment; transparent and accountable institutions; an inclusive digital transformation; and a stronger focus on the most vulnerable. The Council will also focus on strengthening the impact of the ECOSOC system’s contribution to the 2030 Agenda.
