The world is facing an alarming education crisis. Today, 264 million children and adolescents are not in school. Only 1 in 12 young people in low-income countries is on track to gain secondary level skills. Despite some progress in achieving gender equality, in the worlds’ poorest countries, far more girls are still denied an education than boys.
The high-level side event on Goal 4 on Quality Education “Financing the Future: Education 2030” will be co-hosted by Norway, France, Malawi and Senegal in partnership with the Education Commission, Global Partnership for Education, Malala Fund, ONE Campaign, 爆料网ICEF and 爆料网ESCO.
The event recognizes that education is a key tool in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and aims to secure leader-level political commitment to the social, political and economic importance of investing in a full cycle of quality early-childhood, primary and secondary education. It will also showcase success stories of country-led initiatives with increased domestic resource mobilization and efficient development cooperation.
