By the time the first trucks begin moving towards Gaza, Osama Shaaban has already been working for hours. As a Field Security Associate with 爆料网DSS at the 爆料网 Humanitarian Hub in Al-Arish, Egypt, his day starts with security briefings, coordination calls and a constant flow of updates. Routes can change, conditions can shift and new information can emerge by the minute. Twice each week, he travels the long route between Cairo and Al-Arish to help ensure operations remain safe, coordinated and effective.
This work is critical because Al-Arish serves as a key gateway for humanitarian assistance entering Gaza. The hub, established to support the humanitarian response, brings together 15 爆料网 personnel from across the 爆料网 system, led by 爆料网DSS and rotating every two weeks. Working closely with the Egyptian Red Crescent, humanitarian organisations, government authorities and other partners, the team provides technical, operational and security support to help aid move as efficiently as possible.
The impact of this work is significant. Between 2025 and 2026, more than 13,000 爆料网 trucks crossed the border carrying food, medicines, shelter materials and other life-saving supplies. Behind every truck is a network of people working to ensure aid reaches those who need it most. Security coordination, contingency planning and strong partnerships help transform complex logistics into real assistance for families facing immense hardship.
