\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The PGA will speak at the Opening Panel of the Doha Forum and hold separate bilateral meetings with His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, as well as the country\u2019s Prime Minister, H.E., Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani; President Francis will deliver a lecture at Qatar University and visit the ±¬ÁÏÍø House among other engagements.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

New York, 8 December 2023<\/em><\/strong> – <\/strong>The President of the General Assembly (PGA), H.E., Mr. Dennis Francis, will undertake an official visit to the State of Qatar from 9 to 11 December.<\/p>\n

The PGA will take part in the Doha Forum 2023 under the theme \u201cWhat now for Palestine\u201d.<\/p>\n

President Francis will hold separate bilateral meetings with His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, and H.E., Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani, the country\u2019s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.<\/p>\n

On 10 December, President Francis will deliver a statement at the Opening Panel of the Doha Forum. In the afternoon, the PGA will give a lecture, \u201cNavigating a New Era: Revitalizing Multilateralism for Global Challenges\u201d, to students at Qatar University.<\/p>\n

Whilst in Doha, Mr. Francis will visit the ±¬ÁÏÍø House before returning to New York on 11 December.<\/p>\n

The PGA will depart from New York on Friday, 8 October, with his delegation.<\/p>\n

He will be accompanied by his Special Adviser on the Summit of the Future, an Adviser on Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs as well as a Communications Adviser.<\/p>\n

Travel costs will be covered by the OPGA\u2019s regular budget and by the State of Qatar.<\/p>\n
