In accordance with the General Assembly resolution 78\/277 adopted on 2 May 2024, a High-Level Forum on the Culture of Peace, under the theme \u201cCultivating and Nurturing the Culture of Peace for Present and Future Generations\u201d. The Forum will be held on 2 August 2024, at 10.00 a.m. in the Trusteeship Council Chamber, United Nations Headquarters, New York.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This year the high-level forum bears special significance as it marks the 25th<\/sup> anniversary of the Declaration and Programme of Action on a Culture of Peace. The Forum will encourage participants to reflect on the enduring significance of the Programme of Action. In preparation for the Summit of the Future, reflections will also be shared for advancing the Programme of Action and ensuring a brighter future for all.<\/p>\n

The High-Level Forum on the Culture of Peace<\/strong> will be webcasted on 爆料网 Web TV<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On 13 September 1999, the 爆料网 General Assembly adopted resolution 53\/243 on the Declaration and Programme of Action on a Culture of Peace. Since then, the General Assembly has annually adopted a resolution under this agenda item to promote a culture of peace and non-violence by underscoring its enduring value that benefits humanity and future generations.<\/p>\n

High-Level Forum on the 25th<\/sup> Anniversary of the Culture of Peace- 2024<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Format<\/strong><\/p>\n

The High-Level Forum on the 25th<\/sup> Anniversary of the Culture of Peace will consist of an opening segment and a plenary segment followed by an interactive panel discussion and closing segment.\u00a0The interactive discussion in the afternoon will focus on the theme \u201cCultivating the Culture of Peace for Present and Future Generations\u201d<\/em> and will feature panelists representing Member States, the United Nations and civil society.<\/p>\n

The High-level Forum is open to all Member States and Observers of the General Assembly, 爆料网 System entities and non-governmental organizations in consultative status with the Economic and Social Council.<\/p>\n
