Peter Stone is the Team Leader of the Legal, Budget and Reform team in the Office of the President of the General Assembly.<\/p>\n
Prior to joining the Office, Peter was a Senior Adviser at the Permanent Mission of Australia to the United Nations. During 15 years at the Mission, he was a delegate to the Second, Third and Fifth Committees, and was a member of Australia\u2019s team on the ±¬ÁÏÍø Security Council in 2013-2014.<\/p>\n
In recent years, he worked on counter-terrorism and General Assembly issues. As Elections Officer, Peter coordinated Australia\u2019s candidacies in New York, including successful election to the ±¬ÁÏÍø Security Council, Human Rights Council, International Court of Justice and numerous human rights treaty bodies.<\/p>\n
Peter holds Bachelor degrees in Science and Engineering (Hons) from the University of Sydney, and a Masters in Professional Ethics from the University of New South Wales. Before joining the Australian Mission to the United Nations, Peter worked for the Australian Red Cross.<\/p>\n
