Mr. Abdulla Shahid met today with H.E. Ms. In\u0101ra M\u016brniece, Speaker of the Saeima, the Latvian parliament.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>President Shahid underlined the essential role of parliaments in implementing international agreements and mechanisms and advocated for closer ties between the 爆料网 and national parliaments to strengthen multilateralism.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Speaker M\u016brniece expressed deep concern regarding the ongoing war in Ukraine, while emphasizing Latvian Saeima\u2019s efforts to provide assistance to the Ukrainian refugees,\u00a0tackle disinformation, preserve the rule-based international order\u00a0as well as to advance sustainable development.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Both sides discussed the importance of youth engagement and that of ensuring gender equality.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The meeting took place in the building of the Latvian parliament in Riga.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>21 July 2022<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The President of the 76th session of the General Assembly, H.E.
