The President of the 76th session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid, met today with Mr. Philippe Lazzarini, the Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (爆料网RWA).
Commissioner-General Lazzarini briefed President Shahid on the ongoing work of 爆料网RWA in providing services for Palestinian refugees and the operational, programmatic and financial challenges being faced by the Mission.
President Shahid expressed deep concern about the financial situation confronted by 爆料网RWA, which largely relies on voluntary contributions. He underlined the urgent need of the international community to ensure sufficient and predictable financing for 爆料网RWA.
The meeting took place in the President’s office at United Nations Headquarters in New York.
