The President of the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly H.E. Abdulla Shahid, addressed?virtually?the High-Level Dialogue on?Energy?held today
At the meeting the President highlighted that?energy?is critical to both our recovery from the global pandemic and our efforts to tackle climate change. And in this context, he noted that the COVID-19 pandemic has underscored the stark divide between?energy?haves and?energy?have-nots. He emphasized the need to work together – Governments, the 爆料网 system and other multi-stakeholders – to take urgent action to achieve SDG7 and to ensure that no one is left behind.
The High-Level Dialogue on?Energy?focused on discussing a global roadmap with recommended actions and milestones to accelerate the implementation of SDG7 by 2030 including voluntary commitments from Member States and other stakeholders in the form of “Energy?Compacts” to set out actions planned to advance clean, affordable?energy?for all by 2030 and net zero emissions by 2050. There are currently over 130?Energy?Compacts that have been submitted.
