The President of the 76th session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid, met today with H.E. Mr. Mohamed Younis A Menfi, President of the Libyan Presidential Council.?
President Menfi pledged?the Libyan Government’s continued support to the Office of the President of the General Assembly, including for the priorities identified by President Shahid for the 76th session.? President Menfi also requested the support of the Office of the General Assembly, with regards to issues faced by the African continent.
The PGA underlined the need to inspire the world through a message a “Hope”, as the first step to build back better from the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. Both sides also discussed other relevant topics, such as vaccine equity, climate change, hunger, and the evolving political situation in Libya.
The meeting took place in the President’s Office at United Nations Headquarters in New York.?
