New York, 16 September <\/em>\u2013 As the President of the 爆料网 General Assembly for the 73rd<\/sup> Session, Maria Fernanda Espinosa, wraps up her 1-year term in office, a new video reflects on her concrete and lasting legacy: a global campaign to beat plastic pollution.<\/p>\n The Campaign, launched in December 2018 with the Governments of Antigua and Barbuda, and Norway, as well as supported by groups such as 爆料网 Environment, 爆料网OPS, the Krim Group, and Lonely Whale, saw the President of the General Assembly partner with the 爆料网 Secretary General\u2019s Office, as well as facilities management, to remove all single use plastics from the 爆料网HQ in New York. This follows on other successful efforts by 爆料网 offices in Geneva, Nairobi and Vienna, amongst others.<\/p>\n The \u2018Play it Out\u2019 festival was held in Antigua and Barbuda on 1 June 2019 and was part of a global rallying cry to address plastic pollution, particularly in marine ecosystems.<\/p>\n Headlined by \u2018socca-king\u2019 Machel Montano and Grammy Award winning singer\/songwriter Ashanti, the festival included acts such as St. Lucia<\/strong>, Bomba Est\u00e9reo<\/strong>, Nico & Vinz<\/strong>, Rocky Dawuni<\/strong>, Cody Simpson<\/strong>, and Robin Schulz, <\/strong>amongst others. The event also featured top local artists, Ricardo Drue<\/strong> and Claudette Peters<\/strong>. Key speakers at the event included actress Meagan Good<\/strong>, actor and activist Adrian Grenier<\/strong>, and advocate and influencer Amanda Cerny<\/strong>.<\/p>\n \u201cAt the heart of my Presidency is a firm belief that multilateral solutions, involving a diverse group of stakeholders, is the only sustainable and efficient way to deliver results,\u201d noted President Espinosa. \u201cThe challenge of plastics is one that spans the entire globe\u2026every region, every ocean, every environment is impacted.
