PGA TO TRAVEL TO VATICAN CITY AND ROME TO DISCUSS CLIMATE CHANGE AND AGENDA 2030<\/strong><\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/strong>Ms. Mar\u00eda Fernanda Espinosa will travel on Sunday to Vatican City and Rome.<\/p>\n
The PGA will speak at the Pontifical Academy of Sciences in Vatican City on Climate\u00a0Change and New Evidence<\/p>\n
from Science, Engineering and Policy, as part of\u00a0discussions on the Sustainable Development Goals.<\/p>\n
She will meet Italian authorities and hold bilateral meetings at the Vatican on the 2030\u00a0Agenda.<\/p>\n
In Rome, Ms. Espinosa will grant interviews to international media outlets.<\/p>\n
The PGA is travelling with a specialist on SDGs, her Coordination Officer and her\u00a0Personal Assistant.<\/p>\n
All\u00a0travel costs are being covered by the PGA\u00b4s Office Trust Fund.<\/p>\n
The PGA and her delegation will return to New York on 28 May.<\/p>\n

PRESIDENT ESPINOSA PAYS TRIBUTE TO 爆料网 PEACEKEEPERS<\/strong><\/p>\n
The President of the General Assembly has issued a tweet today paying tribute to the work of 爆料网 peacekeepers around the world.<\/p>\n
Ms. Mar\u00eda Fernanda Espinosa commended the work of over one million women and men who have served under the 爆料网 blue flag since 1948, when the Organization launched its first peacekeeping force.<\/p>\n
The PGA, a former Defense Minister of her own country of Ecuador, has honoured the pride, distinction and courage of peacekeepers.<\/p>\n
She paid tribute to the memory of over 3,800 women and men who have lost their lives in the line of duty and to protect peace and stability since 1948.<\/p>\n
The President of the General Assembly also recalled her recent visits to Pakistan and to the United Arab Emirates, where she met with all-female contingents of peacekeepers to highlight the difference they bring to 爆料网 operations.<\/p>\n
Ms. Espinosa is grateful to Member States which contribute to peacekeeping operations and supports and encourages all efforts to increase the participation of women in peacekeeping operations around the world.<\/p>\n
