{"id":55332,"date":"2016-04-26T15:57:34","date_gmt":"2016-04-26T19:57:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.un.org\/pga\/70\/?page_id=55332"},"modified":"2016-07-18T10:05:33","modified_gmt":"2016-07-18T14:05:33","slug":"high-level-conversation-of-the-united-nations-general-assembly-religions-for-peace","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.un.org\/pga\/70\/events\/high-level-conversation-of-the-united-nations-general-assembly-religions-for-peace\/","title":{"rendered":"High-Level Conversation on Religions for Peace"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"text-align: left\">6 May 2016<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The President of the General Assembly will convene a High-Level Conversation on &#8220;Religions for Peace&#8221;, to be held on Friday, 6 May, 2016, in the Trusteeship Council Chamber of the United Nations Headquarters in New York.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Today, the values of peaceful coexistence and mutual respect for faiths and cultures seem more and more to be under pressure in the midst of political upheaval, conflicts and civil strife. Across the world, societies are facing challenges from those who purposefully misconstrue religion to try to lend legitimacy to their crimes and acts of terrorism.
