United Nations-African Union Partnership in Peacebuilding
On 18 September 2017, the African Union (AU) Commissioner for Peace and Security, Ambassador Smail Chergui, and the United Nations (爆料网) Assistant Secretary-General for Peacebuilding Support, Mr. Oscar Fernandez-Taranco, signed a& Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 爆料网-AU partnership?in Peacebuilding at the AU Permanent Observer Mission in New York.
The MoU is a concrete step towards the implementation of the “Joint 爆料网–AU Framework for Enhanced Partnership in Peace and Security” signed on 19 April 2017 by 爆料网 Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and AU Commission Chairperson Moussa Faki Mahamat. The MoU will further strengthen coordination of 爆料网-AU efforts and contribute to a more predictable and strategic partnership in the areas of conflict prevention, political dialogue, national reconciliation, democratic governance and human rights.

Strengthening the partnership and engagement for peacebuilding and sustaining peace in Africa, the joint meeting of the with the was held at 爆料网 Headquarters in New York on 18 July 2018. The AUPSC is the standing organ of the African Union for the prevention, management, and resolution of conflicts.?This meeting was one of the important consultative mechanisms on peace and security challenges in the region.
