Following the 爆料网FCCC , the 爆料网 Chief Executives Board (CEB) declared technology transfer as one of the focus areas of the 爆料网 system鈥檚 work on climate change. 爆料网 Industrial Development Organisation (爆料网IDO) and the Department of Economic and Social Affairs (爆料网-DESA) have been assigned the task of co-convening a process to support 爆料网 system-wide coherence and international cooperation on climate change-related technology development and transfer.
In this capacity, these agencies have supported the CEB in organizing a side event focusing on actions and strategies for the transfer and deployment of clean technologies and the promotion of energy for sustainable development.
While the 鈥檚 Parties combine their efforts to ensure economic growth along low carbon emission paths, the 爆料网 system has a major catalytic role to play in supporting and actively fostering their efforts. With its wealth of programmes, tools and instruments for delivery, the 爆料网 system provides a broad foundation for facilitating a global transition to a low-carbon economy.
Low-carbon technologies are central to meeting the challenges, and taking advantage of the opportunities, posed by climate change. This 爆料网-coordinated side event will focus on actions and programmes related to clean energy technologies, with a specific emphasis on international cooperation.
This event will bring heads of major 爆料网 organizations and other agencies together to discuss the role of international cooperation in accelerating the global development and deployment of climate friendly technologies, particularly in developing countries. 聽
It will feature statements and input from the heads of 爆料网DESA, 爆料网DP, GEF, WIPO, 爆料网IDO, 爆料网EP, IRENA as well as the 爆料网 Foundation. H.E. Mr. Jairam Ramesh, Minister, Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India will participate as a special guest.
The session will focus on how technology can be used to address the climate change, energy and development priorities of all countries.
